On March 15th, 2022, in St Petersburg University the 50th Lyudmila Alekseevna Verbitskaya International Scientific Philological Conference will start work.

The conference will be devoted to a wide range of current problems of linguistics, literature studies, methods of teaching languages, and interdisciplinary scientific research. Special attention will be paid to the exploration of the Doctor of Letters, Professor Lyudmila Alekseevna Verbitskaya's scientific heritage.

Several meetings will be dedicated to the topic of Russian as a foreign language and the methods of its teaching. These are the following sections: "The System of a Language: Linguo-Didactic Description in Terms of Russian as a Foreign Language. Co- Learning of a Language and Culture", "The Problem of the Text Types and the Participation of Linguistic Means in Their Organization: Linguistic and Methodical Aspects", "Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language: Theory and Practice".

Presentations will be made by the Doctors of Letters, Professors Pyotr Evgenievich Bukharkin, Tatiana Igorevna Popova, and Kira Anatolyevna Rogova.

The plenary meeting will include participation of the Doctor of Letters, Professor Rafael Guzman Tirado (the University of Granada, Spain), and the Doctor of Letters, Fellow of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolay Nikolayevich Kazanskiy (the Institute for Linguistic Studies, RAS).

The conference will be conducted in the online format.
